Oaklands Mansion Evergreen Cemetery –
Read about the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Scanning at Evergreen Cemetery, hosted by the African American Heritage Society of Rutherford County and Oaklands Mansion and inspired by the Untold Stories Project. The scans revealed unmarked graves of those believed to have been enslaved at Oaklands Mansion.

Oaklands Mansion Evergreen Cemetery Memorial Dedication –
Watch highlights from the Memorial Dedication at Evergreen Cemetery’s Section M – the section believed to hold unmarked graves of those formerly enslaved at Oaklands Mansion. Members of the African American Heritage Society of Rutherford County, James Manning, Executive Director of Oaklands Mansion, and Audrey Creel, researcher and author of The Untold Stories, presented the names of individuals likely buried in this section and unveiled the memorial.
